CORE MODULE - 17CE

Not just another hot stone class, you will learn critical assessment skills necessary for safe application of heat in massage, temperature control, stone science, as well as beautiful healing stone massage long & short forms.
HSM is a Constitution-Based Treatment : You'll develop fine assessment and hand skills in the HSM CORE MODULE. Practice the Foundation Protocol (long form) plus 8 stone therapy short forms.

• Gain Confidence in Your Stone Therapy Technique: Develop a flowing stone massage, and learn how to integrate stones into your hands without feeling awkward. Learn appropriate pressure depth and dosage of stone massage for your clients' changing and varied conditions.

ADVANCED LEVEL TWO - Sports and Injury Rx, Contrast Thermotherapy - 6CE

Take your deep tissue massage to the next level by incorporating thermotherapy with stones! This course progresses far beyond hot stone massage and works in 5 temperatures with precision for greater effectiveness.

In this course, we will address pre-and post-event athletic issues such as recovery, rehabilitation and maintenance of problem areas as well as overall muscular relaxation, stretching and cleansing with the enlivening adjunct of hot and cold stones.

• Hamstrings
• Shoulders
• Side Lying
• "Tennis" & "Golfer's" Elbow
• Carpal Tunnel (RS syndromes)
• Restorative Yoga Postures with Stones

Based upon the CORE MODULE, this course requires knowledge of the HSM Foundation Protocol (basic safety, precautions, contraindications and relevant geology science for bodywork stones.)

Pre Requisite: 12 classroom hours of previous stone massage training and passing grade on the HSM CORE MODULE written exam

QUALIFICATIONS:
This NCTMB Category - A Continuing Education is for massage therapists and professional bodyworkers, as well as for enrolled students in an accredited professional curriculum of massage therapy training past their first 100 hours. Non LMTs will be admitted only as space permits. Students must be proficient in basic massage skills, and familiar with anatomy, physiology and common pathologies. Basic massage will not be taught.

CERTIFICATION:
All participants will receive a frameable certificate verifying the classroom hours for successful completion of coursework once the practice session documents and written exam with 80% or higher is received. Certification from this massage training is not a substitute for licensure as a massage therapist.

To secure a space in class and also to allow us to determine our room requirements, please register early. A Deposit will be required at time of registration.

CANCELLATION:
Classes with fewer than 8 confirmed students 14 days prior to the class date may be cancelled or postponed to a future date. Credit may be offered toward a rescheduled date, or toward a Home Study Certification, or may be refunded fully.
